How to store your ties

Hello fellow tie wearer,

Today is only a quick one. I want to talk about two ways of how to look after your investment.

Yes, your luxury Me My Suit & Tie handmade ties are the investment that needs to be looked after to last you your lifetime.

Care should be taken when removing your tie. After a long day of work, I know you probably just want to get the damn thing off. But fight the temptation to pull the thin end of the tie through the knot. While this is the easiest way to get your tie off, it ruins the shape of the tie in the process. If you want to make your ties last, remove your ties by following the same tie-tying steps you used in reverse.

But, it does not finish there!

To look after them, you need to store them properly.

  1. Our first recommended way is to hang them out to keep them crisp and this should eventually sort out any knot wrinkles after a few days of hanging.

  2. You could also loosely roll them and store them in a box or drawer compartments, this is ideal for our knitted and cotton ties as hanging these may lead to them stretching.

A nice tie rack is a good investment. Tie racks make storing and organizing your ties much easier. Spend a little on a rack now, and save money in the long run by making your ties last.

When travelling, fold your ties into fours and place them in your coat pocket. That will help maintain your ties’ shape while travelling.

That’s all for storing your investment.
